How Do I Find or Verify My Username or Login Info

Background

On the old website, you could only log in with your username. You couldn’t use an email address; heck, you couldn’t even reset your own password.

Things have change a little bit… and now you have options. Learn how to find your username and/or registered email address (as long as you have access to your account.)

Definitions

Some definitions would be helpful here.

Username: Your username is the account name you would typically use to log into the website (especially the old website.) Usually it follows the format of first inital plus last name, like asmith.

Registered Email Address: This is the address you were registered to the website with. For some this is a personal email address, for others it is their county email address. Most importantly, this is the email address the pacoroners.org website will you to communicate with you directly (for news and updates, password recovery and reset, emergency bulletins, etc.) In most cases you want this to be different from your @pacoroners.org email address.

Legacy Email Address: This refers to your registered email address. We also call it a “legacy” email address because a number of them were brought over from the old website, and we had to have a way to distinguish the email the new website would use to communicate with you (the legacy address) from the public email address the association provides.

Public Email Address: This is the address (ending in @pacoroners.org) shown to the public on your profile and on your contact card. You don’t want to change this.

How Do I Find the Registered (Legacy) Email Address or My Username?

Truth be told, surely you must have one or the other! If you didn’t, you wouldn’t be reading this now, since you’re required to log in.

To view your login details, do the following:

  • Access your profile (hover on Members Only, then My Account, and click See My Profile)
  • Scroll all the way down to the bottom. The website will show you the date you were given access (or for our more tenured colleagues, the date your account was migrated from the old website) along with your registered (legacy) login/username, and email address.
  • Either the username or legacy email address may be used, in conjunction with your password, to access the Members Only section.
The very bottom of your user profile shows you (and only you) your username, registered email address, and registration (or migration) date.
