Changing Your Profile Picture

Introduction

Note: Only coroners, medical examiners, and Association professional staff should have photos.

On the old pacoroners.org platform, profile pictures were static and based on your PSCA member ID photo. Your photo ID required a square photo; the site required a differently-cropped picture. Depending on how your photo was taken and when, it either looked alright or it didn’t.

The new website allows for more flexibility and standardizes on a square (1:1) aspect ratio. Plus, if you’re not happy with your PSCA photo, you can change what’s shown on the website.

Here’s how.

Changing Your Profile Picture from Edit Profile

  1. Access your profile page and enter Edit Mode. (Hover on Members Only, then My Account, then select View My Profile; click on the gear icon to the right of your profile photo and then select “Edit Profile.” In edit mode, the gear icon becomes a checkmark.
  1. Click the camera icon over your current profile photo.
  2. Select “Change Photo” from the resulting menu.
  3. Select “Upload” and browse for the photo you would like to use.
  4. If your photo meets site requirements, it will be uploaded and you’ll see a tool allowing you to crop and shape your photo.
    1. Your initial photo can be any shape or size, but the resulting photo must always be a square (1:1 aspect ratio.) In other words, if you can’t crop your source photo down to just a headshot, you may want to try a different photo. Your original photo may be too closely zoomed or cropped, resulting in your profile missing the top or bottom of your head.
    2. Photos should be JPG/JPEG, HEIC or PNG files and must be under 10MB.
  5. Click the grey checkmark to save your changes.
    1. If you decided against changing your profile photo, there’s no “undo” button. You can click on the camera icon and then select “Remove Photo” (which will set your profile to the Pennsylvania Coat of Arms) or simply try again.

Where Is My Photo Shown?

Requirements

  • Photos should be JPG/JPEG files, HEIC or PNG files
  • Photos must not be larger than 10MB (the system will reject them if so)
  • Photos must be of the coroner his-or-herself, not of groups, offices, badges, patches, logos, etc.
  • If you choose to override the PSCA photo ID, your photo should be a full color, professional-looking headshot
    • The association reserves the right to remove tasteless, unprofessional, unclear or photos otherwise deemed improper.
  • We highly recommend starting with an un-cropped, high-quality image and cropping it to a square-shaped headshot for best results.
    • The Webmaster can assist with any technical (site-related) issues but is not a professional photo editor for the Organization.
